LONDON, UK — RevAIsor, a pioneer in AI governance and assurance, is proud to announce it has been awarded a prestigious “Sovereign AI” grant from Innovate UK. The funding will support the development of Project SENTINEL, a revolutionary neuro-symbolic architecture designed to provide provable safety and security for the next generation of autonomous AI agents.
As AI systems evolve from passive tools to autonomous, goal-directed agents, industry leaders are facing a “verification crisis.” Current deep-learning models operate as “black boxes,” making it nearly impossible to formally guarantee their safety or defend against novel cyber threats like prompt injection and data exfiltration. RevAIsor SENTINEL solves this by integrating a neural “System 1” for intuitive perception with a symbolic “System 2” for deliberative, logical reasoning.
“The UK’s sovereignty in AI depends on our ability to build systems that aren’t just powerful, but provably trustworthy,” said Dr. Edgar Lopez-Rojas, Founder and Technical Lead at RevAIsor. “With the support of Innovate UK, we are building a ‘Symbolic Safety Shield’ that acts as a deterministic guardrail, ensuring autonomous agents always operate within human-defined ethical and security boundaries.”
The project brings together a multidisciplinary team of experts dedicated to redefining AI assurance:
- Dr. Edgar Lopez-Rojas leads the technical vision, bridging the gap between complex neural systems and formal verification.
- Matt Decal and Karol See drive the responsible AI engineering efforts, developing the “Neural Core” and the seamless integration interfaces required for high-performance agentic behavior.
- Ismaeel Ali leads the security engineering, focusing on the integrity of the symbolic shield to ensure it provides a robust defense against adversarial attacks.
The 3-month Proof of Concept will demonstrate the SENTINEL architecture in a simulated multi-agent logistics environment. Crucially, the team will compare this deterministic approach against current industry standards like “LLM-as-a-Judge,” proving that symbolic logic offers a superior, auditable, and verifiable alternative for high-stakes industries.
